About Us
Wazuka Town
Wazuka is located in the southern part of Kyoto
It has long been known as a production center of high quality sencha green tea because of its favorable soil conditions and the fog created by the large temperature difference between day and night.
Wazuka Tea
Uji tea is one of the most famous teas in Kyoto, and Wazuka is the largest tea-producing region.
The entire town is dotted with tea plantations and is known as a "Chagenkyo(Teatopia)." The scenery of this area was the first to be registered as a scenic asset of Kyoto Prefecture as a form of livelihood that should be preserved for future generations, and in 2015 it was recognized as a "Japan Heritage" site.
In addition, the area boasts the nation's largest production of tencha, the raw material used to make matcha green tea.
UEJIMA SOUROKUEN
Uejima Sourokuen is a tea farm located in Wazuka-cho, Kyoto Prefecture. Uji tea is one of the most famous teas in Kyoto, and Wazuka-cho produces about half of the tea leaves used to make Uji tea. Tea leaf production has been ongoing since the 13th century, and our garden has been operated by our family for generations since 1835.
All of the products are teas produced in our garden. We take pride in crafting each product with the utmost care and attention to detail.
